Our Vision

Centering Youth is a 501(c)(3) non-profit service initiative that brings yoga and mindfulness to young people in the juvenile justice system, and to those who have been sexually exploited, abused, are refugees, or are experiencing homelessness.

Our Mission

Yoga and mindfulness have proven effects on participants’ self-confidence, focus, and self-control while engaging in a positive physical and mental activity. Centering Youth offers training and workshops to persons who want to bring yoga and mindfulness to underserved communities.

It is the goal of Centering Youth to give participants tools to help them function in their family units, in schools, and in their communities so they can succeed in reaching their positive goals, avoid future contact with the criminal justice system, and advance the cause of community safety.

When possible, our classes are open to parents, guardians, and staff members of our partner facilities. This builds a positive bond between the participants, their personal supporters, and those who supervise or otherwise assist them.
